- Visit of Chinon Castle

The work of the Earls of Blois, then from 1044 of the Earls of Anjou. Henri II^nd Plantagenêt and Aliénor of Aquitaine lived here; the former died in Chinon in 1189.

This Castle was the venue of many historic events, including the first meeting between Charles VII^th and Joan of Arc.

Founded by the powerful Earl of Anjou, Foulques Nerra, around year 1000; today's castle was initially built by Jean Bourré for Louis XI^th during the XV^th century.
